In AI, there are major new releases every week, not every year. In mature SaaS you studied Salesforce's annual releases. That's now the equivalent — but you have to keep up weekly, and you have to experience it, not just read the TechCrunch writeup.

If you want to cancel all your meetings for a day or for an entire week and just go play around with every AI product you think could be relevant to Airtable, go do it. Period.

Ask why, not what. When someone gives you advice, the chain of thought is more valuable than the recommendation. Their reasoning — formed from a different corpus of experience — tells you how to adapt it to your situation.

Start with vibes, not evals. For a completely novel AI capability, first throw stuff at the wall and see what works in an open-ended way. Evals become useful once you've converged on the form factor and know what use cases to test against.
